I am a 75-year old journalist and the other authors are family. We particularly enjoy the old family stories. That is what this blog is about--preserving the past of our family including those who have gone ahead into the "great beyond" and left us with a rich heritage to share. To paraphrase author, David McCullough, some of these stories are even true.

Grandma's 1908 Poem
Poetry by the Children of Mt. Pleasant – Printed circa 1908 by the Mt. Pleasant Pyramid. The original copy is from the archives of Betty G. Woodbury & restoration work has been done by David Gunderson. As you read these delightful verses, you will get a glimpse of an era gone by and you might find a verse written by one of your ancestors. Vivian Pritchett (who later married Raymond James Smith), a school girl in Mt. Pleasant at the time, was one of the authors. She is my grandmother.
