CHOCOLATE BROWNIES

1 c. butter or oil
8 tbsp. cocoa or 2 sq. chocolate
2 c. sugar
4 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. nuts, chopped

Mix all ingredients together. Spread in well greased 9- by 13-inch square pan. Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes. Ice or not, as desired. 12 servings.
